ECHOES IN THE DARK (SHORT FILM)

This film aims to shed light on the struggles that those with depression face, as it affects not only their ability to feel and think, but also their ability to navigate the world around them. It is my hope that this film will bring attention to the importance of mental health, depression and the impact it has on individuals and their loved ones.
This is my vision for the look and feel of the movie.
The film follows Sarah, a woman who is struggling to come to terms with the recent loss of her fiancé Josh. As she battles with grief, her mind becomes plagued by twisted and distorted memories from her past, causing her mental health to deteriorate rapidly. Feeling as though the darkness of her mind has taken control of her, Sarah must confront the demons within and find a way to survive before the darkness consumes her completely.
is a complex and deeply troubled woman in her 30s, struggling to come to terms with the recent loss of her fiancé. Her mind is plagued by twisted and distorted memories from her past, causing her mental state to deteriorate rapidly. She is consumed by grief and feels as though the darkness of her mind has taken control of her. Sarah must confront the demons within and find a way to survive before the darkness consumes her completely.
Sarah’s fiancé, he is the light in her life, the one who keeps her going, and the source of hope and love for Sarah. He is a major presence in Sarah's mind as she struggles to come to terms with loosing him and the memories they shared together. Josh's absence is a constant reminder of what Sarah has lost and the driving force behind her descent into a dark and disturbed mental state.
Blue is both emotionally charged and very physical. It has deep association with strong emotional states like sadness, depression and despondency.
A sense of isolation. Lonely places create an emotional response and force the characters to confront the evil with limited resources.
The Mind
The frightening and disturbing thoughts and images that can haunt our minds. Connected to stress, anxiety, trauma, or even just the complexity of our inner thoughts and emotions. These disturbing figures create a sense of unease and distress.
